Katie and Reece

Kaitlin (Katie) and Reece are quintessential high school sweethearts. They met at a rollerblading rink when Katie was only 14 and Reece a mere 16 years old. What followed was countless hours of chatting on MSN, texting and skating together.

With their families living in different cities, Reece and Katie knew they wanted to have a destination wedding. It was the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together. Katie and Reece were looking for the best wedding venue the Whitsundays had to offer. They wanted to find a venue that brought their dreams of a beach wedding, rainforest wedding and garden wedding to life. Villa Botanica’s beachside location and multiple gardens sprawling with tropical flowers and plants meant their dream was finally becoming a reality. The villa’s exclusive location also provided the privacy they were looking for to keep their wedding day intimate.

Keeping in mind their guests were traveling to the Whitsundays, Katie and Reece wanted to make sure everyone had an enjoyable getaway. So with the assistance of the Botanica Wedding’s team they organised activities and pre wedding dinner and drinks their guests could enjoy.

For the reception the couple held a sit down dinner for 50 guests. They wanted to create a family dinner atmosphere that was personal and intimate, ensuring they were able to spend time with each of their guests. Even though it was hard to keep the numbers down, Katie said it was the quality time with all of their guests that made it worth it.

Katie and Reece honeymooned in Bali travelling to renowned hotspots Ubud, Seminyak, Legian and Nusa Dua.
