Accommodation
Villa Botanica has negotiated special rates for wedding guests at a number of hotels in Airlie Beach. We would be delighted if you chose to stay in one of these, as this keeps everyone together and makes it easier to catch up whilst we are all in the area.
Accommodation bookings at most hotels and resorts will open one year prior to the stay date. Please go to the accommodation page for further information and contact the hotels directly to book, taking advantage of Villa Botanica’s rates by using our special wedding reference code.
This code is made up from the first letter of the bride’s first name, the first letter of the groom’s first name followed by the date of the wedding, eg Meghan & Harry getting married on 19th May 2024 would be MH190524

Venue Location
Perched on a lush, picturesque peninsula that reaches out into the Whitsunday waters, Airlie Beach is the ideal base to experience what the entire Whitsunday region has to offer. Whether it be on the mainland, the islands or in the surrounding tranquil Whitsunday waters, this gateway to The Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands is the perfect place to enjoy a celebration in paradise.
Whether you are here for a whole week or just a long weekend, prepare to be amazed.
How To Get Here
There are two main airports that service the Airlie Beach region – Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) and Hamilton Island airports. A little further away is Mackay airport. Flight bookings open 331 days prior to departure with all airlines.
Transfer Options
located approximately 25 kms from Airlie Beach. Virgin Australia has daily connecting flights from across Australia via Brisbane into Proserpine and Alliance Airlines offer some services between Proserpine & Brisbane. Jetstar offers a daily direct service from Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne. Virgin Australia provide direct services most days to/from Brisbane. Skytrans also offers some direct flights to/from Rockhampton and to/from Cairns. Most of the major hire car companies have representatives at Proserpine airport. There is also a bus service Whitsunday Transit that operates into Airlie Beach, or Heart of the Reef Shuttles who provide a door to door service and taxis meet all flights.
Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Qantas fly into this airport flying direct services from Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne. There is a ferry company which operates from Hamilton Island Airport to the mainland. These ferries meet all flights. Cruise Whitsundays travel to The Port of Airlie in Airlie Beach. You can find pricing and timetable information on the company’s website. Please be aware that you will need to stay on the mainland as there are no ferry services which coincide with the timing of the wedding.
Located approximately 160Kms from Airlie Beach. Tiger Airlines have very reasonable direct flights to Mackay from Melbourne and Sydney. Virgin, Jetstar and Qantas also operate direct flights from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth & Cairns. Most of the major hire car companies have representatives at Mackay airport. The 2 hour trip to Airlie Beach can also be arranged through Heart of the Reef Shuttles via private transfer or the Greyhound Bus is an alternative.
